Reflection
I made string art by hammering nails into a piece of wood. Then I strung yarn around the nails depicting Iowa with a heart around my hometown. I think it looks good because the shape is very similar to the actual shape of Iowa. Although, I could have added a few more nails to eliminate the gaps in the string. The overall theme of the project is all about the love that I have for my hometown. It will always be a part of me. Important elements of my project are the lines and overall shape. They are important in expressing the meaning of the project. The project also has good balance, because the nails are centered on the board. I learned that sometimes good things take time. It was quite the process hammering all the nails in. This is an important lesson that can be applied in many different situations. To complete this project, first I painted the board black. Then I nailed all the nails into the board and strung the yarn around each nail. I did it this way because it seemed most logical. I am glad I chose to do this project and I am pleased with the outcome.
